Privacy Statement
The NSW North Coast Weeds Advisory Committee (NCWAC) has developed this Privacy Policy to demonstrate their commitment to protecting personal privacy and to comply with the 10 National Privacy Principles (NPPs) as set out in the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000. This NCWAC Privacy Statement explains how your personal information will be treated as you access and interact with the NCWAC website, located at www.northcoastweeds.org.au and the Committee's Bushland Friendly Nursery Scheme Website, located at www.bfns.org.au.
Personal information, collected in a business context is held in a combination of electronic and hard copy records stored securely at the offices of executive members of the Committee. Hard copy information is stored in secure office facilities, including locked filing cabinets at executive members office premises. The Committee’s database is maintained electronically and protected against misuse and unauthorised access by system design and internal access security procedures.
The Committee will only collect information that is necessary, lawful, fair and unobtrusive, and to be used for the following purposes:
- Answering your enquiry.
- Communicating progress made by the Committee and its member organizations regarding Weed Control, Research, Education and Community programs (e.g Newsletters and other publications etc).
- Publicising Weeds Forums and workshops being conducted under the general activities of the Committee.
Disclosure of Personal Information
The NCWAC will not disclose personal information held on its database to Third Parties without prior consent of the person(s) to whom the information pertains. Even where consent is obtained, the information will only be released to related organizations with similar objectives.
Collection of Sensitive Information
The NCWAC will not, under any circumstances, collect or maintain any information that is defined as ‘sensitive information’. Modification and / or removal of information
The NCWAC will ensure, as far as possible that the information maintained by the Committee is kept current by:
Periodic review of the database.
Seeking modifications or requests for deletion from the database with each mail out or other NCWAC communications. Contact Form and emails
To send an e-mail to us, or to make an enquiry online, you will need to complete the e-mail form available on this website. Our online form asks for a limited amount of personal information for contact purposes, such as an email address or telephone number. You have the choice of whether or not to provide additional personal information. Any information provided to us through this form will be used only for the purpose outlined. The type of information collected will typically be no more than what appears on a normal business card. For NCWAC member organizations other standard administrative information may be recorded.
